President Signs Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act into Law

On Tuesday, July 22, President Obama formally signed into law H.R. 803, the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).

This bill improves and streamlines the federal workforce development system in addition to amending and reauthorizing the previously sunset, Workforce Investment Act.

Prior to President Obama’s signature, the bill was passed by the U.S. House of Representatives (415 to 6) and U.S. Senate (95 to 3).
