April is National Financial Capability Month (NFCM), the annual opportunity for similar-minded nonprofits, individuals, financial institutions, businesses of every size and all levels of government to highlight the importance of financial planning and education for all people. Also known as National Financial Literacy Month, the month-long initiative seeks to educate and equip consumers, with and without disabilities, with the necessary skills to make sound financial decisions.
As a result, today's "In the Know" blog showcases CFED (the Corporation of Enterprise Development). Empowering low- and moderate-income households to build and preserve assets, CFED advocates for the advancement of policies and programs that help more people achieve the American Dream, including buying a home, pursuing higher education, starting a business and saving for the future. As a leading source for data about household financial security and policy solutions, CFED focuses on what families need to succeed by promoting programs on the ground and investing in social enterprises that create pathways to financial security and opportunity for millions of individuals and families.
Happy National Financial Capability Month.
